Rock Climbing Club
The climbing team is a way for students at Mountain Vista to come together and learn how to climb/practice climbing with a fun community. No experience is necessary.
Additionally, climbers can compete for MVHS within the American Scholastic Climbing League (ASCL).

Meetings and practices
When?
The season begins in September and runs until the State comp in February.
Where?
Practices are held at Movement Centennial.
Competitions may be played across the metro region.
What time?
Climbing =Year round?
The club practices Monday and Wednesday, 3:45 - 5 (officially)
Club info
Competitions?
You do not need to compete to be a club member.
ASCL climbers: It's recommended you climb the minimum number of comps (three) to qualify for regionals.
Competitions usually are on Saturday.
Shirts?
Club shirts are provided with the due fee.
They should be worn at competitions.

Extra Costs?
Gym membership / Movement - $93 [access to free classes, yoga, and gym/fitness sessions]
Gear: Harness = $50 / Shoes = approx $60
Registration to ASCL league: $125
Competitions: ~ $20-30 per competition.
Comps at Movement gyms = free.

2026-27 Season and club fees
Club donation fee = $50
This helps defray the cost of shirts, shared club gear, the banquet (maybe?), and scholarships for climbers in need.
